All
dogs get to participate in group play at no extra charge.
To ensure your pup's safety and enjoyment, we ask all
new clients to bring in their pup for a play day evaluation
before boarding.
We
find that the play day evaluation helps the dog feel
more confident when he does stay with us. After a play
day, your dog will know the staff and the routine and
that Taurus is a fun place to be.
Dogs
are placed in play groups according to age, size and
temperament. We have two play yards equipped with our
doggy playscapes -- great for romping, games of "king
of the mountain," or just lounging.
The
dogs get to play outside approximately six to seven
times a day, for about 30 minutes each time. Some of
our more active dogs will go out more often so we can
achieve our goal of sending home a happy, tired pup.
Both
yards provide access to shaded areas. The pups always
have access to fresh water -- both inside and out. When
they're not outside playing, the dogs nap and recharge
inside our climate-controlled kennels.
Your
dog's daily schedule starts at 6:30. This is a great
time for play. Between 7:00 and 8:00 am, breakfast is
served and different groups of pups go outside to play.
Throughout
the day, the dogs continue to go outside with their
buddies to frolic and chase, and then take nap breaks
in our climate controlled kennels. In the evening, we
feed between 5 and 6 pm and continue the cycle of play
sessions.
Before
bedtime, all dogs are given a last bathroom break and
play session before turning in for the night. Blankets
and toys are passed out and we make sure all our dog
guests are as comfortable as possible.
When
the lights go out, we leave the radio on at a low level
to soothe the pups to sleep. Usually they are zonked
out from a full day of play and sleep right through
to morning.
One
of our staff lives on site so the dogs are never left
alone.
We don't charge any extra for medications, feeding your
pup his own food or TLC.
If
you wish to have your pup bathed or groomed before you
pick up, just let us know. We base bath charges on the
size, coat length, and degree of difficulty of the dog.
All
dogs over 14 months of age must be spayed or neutered.
