Taurus Training and Doggy Play Day offers a fun, safe, and positive learning environment for canine day care, boarding, and training. We’ve been locally owned and operated since 1994.

Kennel Technician -- Become a Dog Care Expert

The right applicant will always be considered for a kennel technician position, whether or not we have an immediate opening. Kennel techs generally work 20-40 hours per week. Starting pay is $9 per hour. Experience in animal care strongly preferred.

Flexible availability, including a.m. and p.m. shifts, holidays, and weekends, is required.

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Have an opportunity to expand your knowledge of dog health and behavior
  • Receive on-the-job training
  • Become a part of a growing, team-oriented company interested in your personal and professional growth

Duties will include:

  • Cleaning
  • Feeding
  • Medicating
  • Rotating dogs in playgroups
  • Supervising playgroups
  • Participating in playgroups
  • Canine TLC
  • Grooming/bathing

Skills/qualities that will help you be successful:

  • Attention to detail
  • Physical and mental stamina
  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn quickly) canine health and behavioral issues
  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn quickly) canine communication, signaling, and body language
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Concern for each detail of the customers’ experience, both canine and human customers
  • An appreciation of the dog/human bond, and the ability to keep that foremost in your actions and intentions
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team

Dog Trainer

Skills/qualities that will help you be successful:

  • Dog training experience
  • Knowledge of canine health and behavior
  • Knowledge of canine communication, signaling, and body language
  • Good communication skills and ability to work on a team for a common mission--the physical and behavioral health and safety of the dogs!
  • Understanding of how details affect the customers’ experience, both canine and human customers An appreciation of the dog/human bond, and the ability to keep that foremost in your actions and intentions
