Melanie met William in 1994 when her two dogs were out of control. She was so impressed, they soon went into business together. Never envisioning ending up an entrepreneur, Melanie has degrees in History/Classical Civilization from UT, a Masters in Environmental Ethics and Philosophy from UNT, and attended UT Law School.
Melanie focuses on the development of the Taurus Pack in training and operations. She also spends time giving back to the Austin community by serving in a variety of volunteer positions, including:
Emancipet Board of Directors, whose mission is to improve the lives of pets and their owners by providing high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgeries and wellness services free or for a low cost.
Off Leash Area Advisory Committee Member, a committee of citizen volunteers that advises the Austin Parks and Recreation Department on matters relating to off leash areas and dogs on parkland.
Queen b with the b club, a group that raises emergency funds for breast cancer victims and survivors.
When she’s not working with various non-profits, Melanie is reading, gardening (she’s often accused of being a plant addict), scuba diving, traveling, practicing yoga, or training for sprint triathlons.
