Dog of the Day
May 9, 2008: Cooper
Look at that serious face! I promise this stoic 'doodle is actually the class clown of our McNeil board-and-train program. He's learning all the new training commands, but he certainly brings a hilarious twist to every training session. Cooper is having a blast making everyone laugh out in the yards as he romps around with his buddies!

May 6, 2008: Dakota
This handsome German Shepherd mix was a little unsure when he started coming to Taurus Lamar, but he’s really blossomed. He’s got tons of pals that always look forward to seeing him, and he loves to play with all of them. All of our techs are smitten too, thanks to his good looks and charming personality. We feel so lucky to be able to watch him come out of his shell.
May 5, 2008:
Who wouldn't love those ears or a dog named after our former first lady? In addition to being a smarty pants with our trainers, Ladybird is a hit in the yards. She's also a soft as a rabbit which made snuggling with her enjoyable as well.
May 2, 2008: Dally
Miss Dally looks super serious for her Dog of the Day glamour shot, but don't let that fool you. Dally is all wiggles and giggles in the McNeil play yards. She's also our star pooch in the board-and-train program. Believe it or not she's still a puppy, but she's acting like an old pro!
May 1, 2008: Dickon
Did you know that the most popular Monopoly game token is the Scottie dog? We can see why! This little guy is Dickon, a recent addition to our Taurus family. He comes to play with us up at McNeil and makes friends instantly with his winning personality. We’re pretty sure everything’s fun and games with Dickon!
April 29, 2008: Gus
When we see this energetic Yellow Lab bound through the door at Taurus Lamar, we know to be ready for fun. He loves wrestling and playing chase with all his pals in the play yards. We think he could play non-stop all day, but we just love to catch him for a quick scratch under the chin. Then he runs back to his buddies, ready for more excitement.
April 28, 2008: Gracie
Who can resist that cute little face? This girl has brains and looks which made all of the trainers fall in love with her fast. She's just the perfect dog to snuggle with, as long as you don't snuggle too long. She's always excited to be on the go and explore as well as running around with the other dogs in the yard.
April 25, 2008: Blackjack
The training team is running with a full house now that Blackjack has joined the team! This little Ace of Spades has the pit boss on his toes! When Blackjack isn't out in the yards romping around with all his buddies, he's with the training staff learning other skills besides card counting. Don't let that poker face fool you, this little man has won over the whole staff with his charm!
April 24, 2008: Katy
Cool, calm, and collected: a phrase that fits Miss Katy very well. But don’t let that description fool you, because another word that describes this beautiful boxer is FRISKY! As you can tell by her photo, Katy will accept any invitation to play with a perfect, dramatic Play Bow. You will often see us here at McNeil jumping around the yards, wiggling our “tails”, and doing something that resembles The Twist because Katy is the perfect dance partner!
April 23, 2008: Coco
At least once a week, Coco scampers across the lobby at Taurus Metric eager to give out kisses and spend the day playing with his petite pals. Everyone loves to cuddle with this joyful toy poodle and he soaks up the extra attention. Although he is good at cuddling, we know our adorable friend is really here to play. Coco combines his speed and agility to show off some never-before-seen moves! Go, Coco!
April 22, 2008: Pepper
On the Scoville scale we think this spicy little black Lab mix would be equal to a Habanero. All her pals think she's the perfect ingredient in the Taurus Lamar play yards. Don't let her name fool you, though. She's just as sweet as she is spicy.
April 21, 2008: Zeta
Aren't those little ear tips adorable? The first time you meet Zeta you won't have time to notice as she's wiggling everything around in her excitement to meet you. This intense girl always had time to pay attention to our trainers and we in turn always had time to give her attention. The dogs in the yards love her playful style as well.
April 18, 2008: Rocket and Jet
4....3....2....1... Blast off! It's Rocket and Jet! These board and train graduates zoom through the yards at Taurus McNeil regularly. These little Italian Greyhounds were star pupils in McNeil's training program and they love to show off their talents. All the other dogs gravitate to Rocket and Jet, they are extremely popular with the ladies. These pups are out of this world!
April 17, 2008: Kona S.
Kona is your typical golden-- smart, handsome, and outgoing. We’re pretty sure he’s never met a dog he didn’t like, and has never refused our offers to snuggle with him (which we like to do quite often)! His name always reminds us of Hawaii and we’re sure he’d fit right in among the friendly, laid back culture. Aloha, Kona!
April 16, 2008: Zanna Doo
Zanna Doo knows how to play the Taurus way. Hit the lights because every time this adorable Australian Shepherd mix comes to Taurus Metric, she is the star of the show. She gives her best performance with a rousing game of chase that entertains human and dog alike. Encore!
April 14, 2008: Jordan
Jordan's a pleasure to have around and we love that she'll play with any dog at any time. Our trainers loved interacting with her and getting her out to Town Lake during her two weeks of board-and-train. Her sweet personality and willingness to get out free kisses were appreciated by all of our staff. Her great new manners will serve her well as she's out and about in town.
April 10, 2008: Mia
Little Miss Mia may be small, but she has enough spunk and energy to fuel a dog 10 times her size! This petite girl can never get through the front door fast enough and loves running around the yards, encouraging all her friends to join in. Not only is she full of positive energy, she's adorable too. You go-go-go, girl!
April 9, 2008: Rio
Every time we see Rio the Taurus Metric staff is surprised at how quickly our Vizsla friend is growing. There is enough puppy to romp and play with the most active dogs but we can tell Rio is growing into one handsome boy. We know you're something special, Rio!
April 8, 2008: Axel
While we've never seen THIS Axel in a bandana or leather pants, we're sure he thinks Taurus Lamar is Paradise City. When this handsome Great Dane struts in, we know to be ready for a great time. He's got tons of groupies, both dogs and people. He just has to flash us a look with that icy blue eye, and we all melt. Rock on, Axel!
April 7, 2008: George
Who could resist that fluffy teddy bear face? Not us. It makes it even harder when he walks up to us in the yard and sits for attention. George definitely wants to be noticed and may help people at times by saying hello if they aren't saying hello fast enough. This well behaved boy paid tons of attention to our trainers at all times and just expects the same in return.
April 1, 2008: Rosie Kitty
Every dog has its day, and April Fool's Day belongs to this one. Rosie Kitty may not look very canine, but don't be fooled by the catsuit; she's the leader of the pack at Taurus Lamar! When her previous owner left town (and left her behind), Rosie found a job opening at Taurus for the challenging position of "kennel cat". She works like a dog, never failing to perform the important task of reorganizing the papers on our front desk each night! In recognition of her hard work, she was recently awarded her own desk in the manager's office. Keep up the good work, Rosie Kitty!!
March 31, 2008: Chip
Chip is as sweet as his full name, Chocolate Chip, suggests. He loves to romp around with the other dogs or just play with a ball while they take a break. He charmed all the trainers who worked him during our board-and-train with those big brown eyes. He was great at his long down stay, even if he wasn't tired from playing in the yards.
March 28, 2008: Hazel
YOU HAVEN'T MET HAZEL YET?! How could you have missed this Taurus regular? Hazel has been gracing the halls of Taurus McNeil for years! This lovely lady is a Taurus board-and-train graduate and insists all her doggy pals behave nicely as well. This polite princess definitely has a rambunctious side--don't let those good looks fool you. We let all of her boyfriends know in advance when Miss Hazel has a playday reservation so they can have their baths scheduled in advance. She insists on only mingling with the best.
March 27, 2008: Lucy E.
Little Miss Lucy is one of the sweetest beagles we know. She is laid back but still likes to romp out in the yards and enjoys kisses from the techs here at McNeil. We love snuggling with her too, because her beautiful coat is super soft. We are always happy to have Lucy with us!
March 25, 2008: Sharpley
Sharpley is all smiles and wiggles when she comes to play with us at Taurus Metric. When she isn't bouncing and romping across the wooden playscape, she is getting some well-earned scratches from our staff. You're welcome to wiggle though our door any day, Sharpley!
